Dentures are a removable way to replace missing teeth. They can be made out of acrylic or a combination of acrylic and cobalt chromium, if more strength and retention required, or they can be made out of a flexible, soft plastic.
Dentures can replace anything from one tooth to a full dentition. They are also very useful at replacing lost support and gum tissue.
Often when teeth have been removed the supporting tissues dissolve leading to collapse of the facial tissues which causes premature ageing. A good, well designed denture can not only replace teeth but can restore the lost supporting tissues and fill out the face again.
